Humans are social creatures. They do their best when they are around others like them. ADHD support groups can share experiences and help you cope with ADHD. Whether you are an Adult with ADHD looking for others or a parent with a child with ADHD, finding others in the same boat as you will help you get through. To help I have created a resource here for finding an ADHD support group near you.
What to look for in a Support Group
Some will be there to just talk about your problems. They can be unstructured and more of a social network of support. Other excellent groups can provide training for both adults with ADHD, children with ADHD and the parents. Don’t forget the parents. They need just as much training and support as the rest of us with ADHD. The training can improve your life so much in way you might never have thought of. Find what works for you. If there isn’t an ADHD support group in your area. Start one. You can help too, even if you don’t have all the answers.
